Dr. Scott Morledge-Hampton, M.D.
Ophthalmology runs in the Morledge blood. It all began in 1928 when Dr. Scott Morledge-Hampton’s grandfather, Dr. Roy Morledge, an eye, ear, nose, and throat specialist, moved to Billings with his wife and their six children to open the first Morledge practice. Two of those six children would later become local ophthalmologists: Dr. Morledge-Hampton’s father (Dr. Charles Morledge) and his uncle (Dr. Tom Morledge). Will there be a fourth generation ophthalmologist? Chances are good as Dr. Scott and his wife, Diane, have five children – three of whom claim that they want to be an eye doctor when they grow up.
Dr. Scott Morledge-Hampton received his undergraduate degree in biology at the Citadel – the Military College of South Carolina. In 2000 he followed in his father’s and uncle’s footsteps, receiving his medical degree at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Following graduation from medical school, Dr. Morledge-Hampton and his family moved to Columbia, MO, for Scott’s internship at the University of Missouri – Columbia. Dr. Morledge-Hampton was then offered a residency training position with the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. In 2004 the Morledge-Hampton’s made their final move: back to Billings.
One of Dr. Morledge-Hampton’s proudest moments was on June 14, 2010 when the new Morledge Family Eye Clinic and Surgery Center’s door opened for the first time. His father and grandfather would have been very proud of this beautiful, new state-of-the-art facility.
Dr. Morledge-Hampton was trained as a comprehensive ophthalmologist and his practice was comprehensive in nature until Fall of 2017 when he made the decision to focus his time and energy doing what he does best: serving the Billings area as a premier cataract specialist.
